The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to oversee large-scale civil and surveying projects valued at around £10 million or more. As a core member of our team, you will manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and schedule.

Your extensive quantity surveying expertise, coupled with strong business acumen, will enable you to effectively control project costs, assess risks, and coordinate multiple contracts.

This role requires excellent stakeholder communication skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and professionalism

Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities include managing civil and surveying projects independently, from initial estimates through to final accounts. You will oversee project costs, monitor financial positions, and ensure projects adhere to contractual obligations and schedules.

Identifying and mitigating financial and construction risks will be vital, along with preparing accurate measurements, financial estimates, and cost controls. Effective communication with clients, contractors, and project teams is essential for smooth operations.

You will enforce safety standards, maintain professional memberships, and uphold organisational standards. Managing multiple contracts simultaneously, you will support project delivery by coordinating documentation, ensuring compliance, and advising on best practices to optimise project performance and meet strategic objectives

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 8 years of experience managing large-scale construction or engineering projects valued at £10 million or more. You will hold recognised professional membership such as RICS, CIOB, or ICES, along with IOSH certification, demonstrating a strong commitment to safety and professionalism.

Your expertise includes accurately measuring quantities, producing reliable financial estimates, and effectively managing project costs. You possess excellent organisational, multitasking, and communication skills, with the ability to foster strong relationships with clients, contractors, and teams.

A proven commercial mindset, attention to detail, and a dedication to safety, quality, and standards are essential for success in this leadership role.
