Financial Accountant
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Accountant to join our finance team. This role involves supporting the Finance Manager in delivering accurate financial results and maintaining clean transactional accounts.
The ideal candidate will play a key part in ensuring the fidelity of management accounts, cash flow forecasting, and statutory compliance, all while supporting external audits and tax processes. The position offers an excellent opportunity for an individual with solid financial skills to contribute to the smooth operation of our financial functions and support continuous process improvements.
The Role
As a Financial Accountant, you will be instrumental in preparing and reviewing monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analyses. You will assist in the completion of statutory audits, prepare indirect tax returns, and support transactional finance activities.
The role also involves engaging in process improvements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and acting as a backup support for the Indian finance manager.
Your input will be vital in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting year-end procedures, and helping optimise financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Your core responsibilities include posting and reporting financial data monthly, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, with thorough analytical reviews. You will complete indirect tax returns, forecast cash flows, and support transactional finance activities to ensure accuracy.
Participating proactively in the year-end closing process and audit preparations will be part of your duties. You will assist in implementing process improvements and ensuring adherence to accounting standards. Additionally, you will handle ad hoc financial tasks as requested to support the overall financial health of the organisation.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will bring 2-4 years of experience in a financial or accounting role, with a solid understanding of UK accounting standards and procedures. Possess a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business management, or a related field. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and ERP systems like MS Dynamics are essential.
The candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills, problem-solving ability, and high integrity. Familiarity with government laws and regulations is advantageous, and a proactive, detail-conscious approach is crucial for success in this role.
