Infrastructure & DevOps Consultant - Microsoft Dynamics 365

The Infrastructure & DevOps Consultant will support the delivery, operation and ongoing improvement of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform environments across the global consulting practice. The role is focused on the infrastructure side of Dynamics 365, including environment management, Azure DevOps, deployment automation, release management, CI/CD pipelines and overall application lifecycle management. This is an internal and client-facing delivery role requiring strong Dynamics 365 platform operations experience, practical knowledge of delivery governance and the ability to manage stable, controlled and repeatable releases across development, test, UAT, production and post-go-live environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage Dynamics 365 environments across development, test, UAT, pre-production and production, ensuring appropriate environment strategy, access, refresh, availability and readiness for delivery activities.
• Own Azure DevOps ways of working for technical delivery including repositories, branching approach, work item traceability, build and release pipelines, deployment gates and release documentation.
• Design and support deployment automation to improve consistency, reduce manual effort and support controlled promotion of changes across environments.
• Manage release planning and release management including release calendars, deployment runbooks, change packs, approvals, rollback considerations and post-release validation.
• Support CI/CD pipeline design and operation using Azure DevOps and Git to enable repeatable build, package and deployment processes aligned to project standards.
• Maintain application lifecycle management controls across solution packaging, versioning, environment promotion, configuration management and production support transition.
• Coordinate deployment activity across technical, functional and business teams ensuring SIT, UAT, cutover, go-live, hypercare and ongoing enhancements are supported through clear release governance.
• Monitor and improve platform stability by supporting incident triage, deployment issue resolution, performance investigation, environment housekeeping and proactive operational improvements.
• Support integration and automation workstreams where they interact with environments, deployment pipelines, Azure services, Power Automate, service accounts, security roles and release dependencies.
• Produce clear technical and operational documentation including environment plans, deployment guides, release notes, support runbooks, configuration records and handover materials.
• Identify delivery risks, dependencies and issues related to environments, deployments, releases, access, security, integrations and operational readiness, escalating clearly with practical resolution options.
• Act as a bridge between delivery leadership, solution architects, functional consultants, developers, infrastructure teams and business stakeholders ensuring platform and release implications are understood and managed.

Experience & Knowledge

• Proven experience supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform operations, implementation delivery and production support in project or client environments.
• Experience across full lifecycle Dynamics 365 implementations, with strong exposure to environment strategy, deployment governance, release management and post-go-live support.
• Strong working knowledge of Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines, release management and deployment automation in Microsoft enterprise delivery environments.
• Good understanding of Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, Project Operations, Sales / Customer Engagement, Dataverse and Power Platform from an infrastructure, release and ALM perspective.
• Awareness of integrations, data migration, security roles, environments, testing, cutover and release management within the Microsoft ecosystem.
• Ability to coordinate technical delivery activity across functional consultants, developers, infrastructure teams, solution architects and business stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation and stakeholder management skills with a focus on stable, repeatable and controlled delivery.

Preferred Qualifications & Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Microsoft certifications such as MB-300, MB-500, PL-400, AZ-204 or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert are preferred.
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Apps Solution Architect or equivalent certification is desirable.
