Introduction

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead nxzen’s engineering and design capability across renewable energy projects in Australia. This role combines team leadership, engineering delivery, and support across EPC tenders and project execution within the Energy Asset Developments (EAD) CoE.

You will oversee engineering outcomes from concept through to delivery, working closely with internal teams, partners, and clients to ensure practical, high-quality solutions that support project success.



Responsibilites

Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Lead and manage the EAD engineering and design team across EPC projects and engineering services
  • Build and scale engineering capability, systems, processes, and delivery frameworks
  • Oversee engineering design delivery, ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance
  • Support EPC tendering activities including concept design, pricing inputs, risk assessment, and scheduling
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with EPC partners, contractors, and suppliers
  • Drive engineering solutions for renewable energy projects including BOP, substations, SCADA, and power system modelling
  • Manage grid connection processes (AEMO R1/R2) and technical issue resolution through to final sign-off
  • Support project origination, business development, and early-stage feasibility assessments
  • Contribute to the development of engineering service offerings and offshore delivery models
  • Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a high-performing and solutions-oriented team


The candidate

Essential Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or higher)
  • 15+ years’ experience in engineering within energy, utilities, or infrastructure
  • Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering design outcomes
  • Strong background in EPC or large-scale project environments
  • Experience in renewable energy projects, including project development and delivery within the Australian market (Asia exposure desirable)
  • Solid understanding of engineering design, construction, and commissioning
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental practices in project delivery
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills
